As part of our Green Initiative, the Rally of the Tall Pines tries to support and promote the Green Efforts of the Town of Bancroft.  They asked us to post this message for them as they are looking for volunteers for their 6th Annual Hastings Highlands Hilly 100.

If you want a fun day out, we encourage you to join the support team and become a volunteer for the Hilly 100.  You can donate your time for one hour to one day as we appreciate any time you can offer the "Tour" as without you, this event cannot take place.

Phone Clive at (613) 332-1969 or go on-line an fill out the volunteer form at www.tripsandtrails.ca.  Click on Hilly 100 and scroll down to the volunteer form.  You can also pop into Trips & Trails and talk with Clive.  We need help with the following:

Tuesday, September 2nd, entering in credit card numbers to process the rider's payments

Wednesday, September 3rd until Thursday, September 9th, putting together rider tour packages

Friday, September 10th giving out tour packages to the riders as they arrive

Friday, September 10th from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. installing Hilly 100 signage along the course

Saturday, September 11th from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. giving out tour packages to riders

Also vounteers are needed to sell race jerseys and t-shirts, to help at checkpoints, and to help as marshalls out on the course

Sunday, September 12th help is needed driving the course to ensure that all signage has been removed.

Thanks to the efforts of volunteers like you, the Annual Hilly 100 brings 250+ riders plus their families and friends from across Ontario, Quebec and the Northern United States into our Town!  A portion of the funds raised from this event are being donated to help resurface the Hastings Heritage Trail from Bancroft to Birds Creek, providing a safer and more enjoyable environment for cyclists and hikers.  Other funds raised will help improve trails in the area.
